Comeback Coolers
Wristband Number: 15291
Comeback Coolers was an idea that a single person (Heather Eason) had in 2016. Approximately 30 coolers were delivered to Denham Springs,LA after a never-before-seen rain event. Fast forward to 2018 and through multiple campaigns, because of the unexpected pay-it-forward movement from previous recipients, we were able to deliver just over 1000 coolers to folks in need over three campaigns. One to North Carolina, and another to South Carolina for Hurricane Florence. We were in South Carolina delivering coolers and were vigilantly watching the storm that inevitably turned into a Cat-5 (Hurricane Micheal) that hit the Florida panhandle( The home of one of our board members). We could not have reached out to all of these people had it not been for the donations we received from all of the folks that continue to support our organization. Driving into multiple storm ravaged areas over the the past few years, I can tell you first-Hand, the news doesn’t come close to the the first-hand experiences we stumble upon. Every family’s struggle is a little different from the next. I am proud to be the C.O.O. and a volunteer of this organization. I meet amazing folks working hard to piece their lives back together. We can’t fix their home, car, or livelihood, but we bring them hope and the sense that people are thinking about them. The responses we receive from recipients and the amazing Pay-It-Forward movement that has happened is the only fuel we need to continue our mission. Thank you Brad Bellman for giving me this bracelet and allowing me to pass it on. You’re a great man and I appreciate your friendship.
